Conor McGregor's devastated reaction after fighter is knocked out in nine seconds

Conor McGregor was visibly upset after his fighter Nate Jennerman was knocked out in less than 10 seconds on The Ultimate Fighter.

Former two-weight UFC champion McGregor, 34, is coaching alongside his rival Michael Chandler on season 31 of the reality TV show ahead of their fight later this year. The inaugural episode of this year's The Ultimate Fighter aired on Tuesday and it didn't go as planned for Team McGregor as Jennerman was stopped by Roosevelt Roberts in the first fight of the season.

Jennerman was stunned by a big right hand just three seconds into the bout and Roberts, a UFC veteran who served a three-year stint in the promotion, went straight for the finish. Roberts landed the same shot just seconds later, dropping Jennerman and finishing the fight with some follow-up hammer-fists. McGregor could then be seen slapping his hands together in frustration whilst watching the bout from cageside.

Jennerman was in tears whilst sitting in his locker room after the loss and McGregor made sure to keep the fighter's spirits high, telling him: "Don't worry about it, we'll get better now. Back to the gym." Jennerman said of his knockout loss: "Right now I'm just kind of down on myself, I just got clipped off the bat and didn't get to show myself out there."

Chandler goes into the second episode with a win over McGregor and he was ecstatic after Roberts' quick win, stating: "Roosevelt went out and did exactly what I knew he could do and what I wanted him to do. He got his range and before you knew it, hit Jennerman with a big right hand. It was picture-perfect and he should be very proud of that performance."
