Conor McGregor has hit back at UFC rival Khabib Nurmagomedov after he omitted him from his list of the 15 best-ever fighters.
McGregor remains the biggest star in the UFC and is currently preparing for his comeback fight against Michael Chandler which is set to take place later this year. A key part of the Irishman's story in the UFC is his bitter rivalry with Nurmagomedov which culminated in a mega-fight in 2018 which the Russian won by submission.
Despite having settled the scores in the cage the pair remain in a huge feud given the fight ended in a brawl between both teams, but a sequel is no longer on the cards given Nurmagomedov has retired from MMA. In The Eagle's latest dig at his rival he named a whole host of leading names in the UFC above his former opponent on an extensive list of his best-ever fighters.
He tweeted: "My MMA GOAT top 15. 1) Fedor Emeleinanko/Jon Jones. 2) Georges St Pierre. 3) Anderson Silva. 4) Demetrious Johnson. 5) DanielCormier. 6) Henry Cejudo. 7) Jose Aldo 8) Kamaru Usman 9) Israel Adesanya. 10) BJ Penn. 11) Royce Graice 12) Randy Couture/Cain Velasquez. 13)Dan Henderson/Shogun Rua 14) Mirko Cro Cop/Stipe Miocic 15) Dominic Cruz/Frankie Edgar."
McGregor quickly hit back while quoting the tweet, writing: "In the end it's who's left. Don't forget. God bless Tidl Sports Science." Despite suffering a decline of form as of late, McGregor is looking to remain active and is preparing for a new campaign at 170lb after piling on the pounds following his broken leg.
The 34-year-old has already had a hugely successful career in the octagon having reigned as a two-weight champion which would see him make many UFC fans' top 15. However it is not enough to make it on Nurmagomedov's list, which is just the latest dig at McGregor he has made since taking a step back from MMA.

One of the key features of McGregor's career has been fans talking about a rematch with Nurmagomedov in recent times, which UFC president Dana White has attempted to lure both men into on several occasions. However in a most recent rant aimed at his conqueror via the Russian's manager Ali Abdelaziz, McGregor ruled out any second meeting.
He tweeted: "Hey, s**t stain on the game, I’m talking as of now it is beginning to bare fruit. We beat their system of fighting on TUF [The Ultimate Fighter]. It's locked down. It’s no wonder s*** pants [Nurmagomedov] scurried. There’s no competing now. The head of the style is too fat a b**** and afraid to compete again. So we win. You can’t compete with us. Watch and witness you rat b******."
