MMA star Conor McGregor has offered to cover the cost of security so Katie Taylor can have her homecoming fight in Croke Park.
The announcement of Katie's fight with Amanda Serrano in the 3Arena caused an immediate backlash with many expecting the fight to take place in front of 80,000 fans in Croke Park in May.
Promoter Eddie Hearn blasted the GAA and the costs involved in staging the fight in Croker but the GAA stood its ground and insisted they advised top security would be needed for the event.

Hearn said the cost to have the fight in Croke Park was almost three times higher than if it were in Wembley Stadium, something the GAA denied.
Now, Conor McGregor has entered the ring and said he will sponsor the reported €500,000 security costs so the fight can go ahead in Croke Park on May 20.
Taking to Twitter, he posted: "The extra security bill is 500k to have Katie Taylor fight at Croke Park? I will sponsor the event to see this happen."
Fans have been quick to heap praise on the Dubliner and share their excitement about this possible 'gamechanger.' They've urged the GAA and Eddie Hearn to contact The Notorious to make it all happen.
One fans wrote: @EddieHearn Call @TheNotoriousMMA and make this happen, Zero excuses now. History in the making. @KatieTaylor deserves this. Boxing deserves this."
In response to McGregor's tweet, Hearn simply tweeted: "Let's talk."
Conor publicly replied to the English promoter asking "what's the craic."
"Give me the current landscape. I’m in," McGregor said.
"Is this doable still? Or is it a double show, the point first with Croke park later in year, post the GAA season? I’m in either way. She better be getting her worth for this also," he continued.
Someone else suggested Conor McGregor fight on the same card as Taylor at Croker on the night.
A third said: "Ireland has stood behind Conor on many occasion. It’s great to see him stepping up for this. Croke park should be doing everything to facilitate Katie to make this happen. Nobody deserves it more. Fair play Conor, we won’t forget."
Another added: "Fair play, Conor. As much as I love the 3Arena as a venue, Katie Taylor deserves nothing less than an 80,000 sellout at home. AND to be fair, Amanda Serrano deserves this size crowd too. Their last fight was 1 of the best fights of the last few years."
