Conor McGregor has claimed he is the "highest-paid actor" after filming for his first acting role in a Hollywood movie.
McGregor is currently stepping up his training ahead of a potential UFC comeback in 2023, after breaking his leg in a second consecutive defeat to Dustin Poirier last July. Alonside his rehabilitation programme, McGregor has landed his first acting role in a remake of Hollywood classic ' Road House' alongside Golden Globe winner Jake Gyllenhaal.
The Irishman has recently been filming for the movie in the Dominican Republic and has kept fans amused while documenting his new exploit on social media. He recently added a new boast on his Twitter account before later deleting the tweet, writing: “I’m the highest-paid first-time actor of all time. Add that to the rest of my accolades.”
He later claimed that he felt he deserved the financial reward after performing some tricky stunts for himself, adding: “I’m still recovering. I done all my stunts for this. I didn’t think the stunt double we had looked like me so I wouldn’t have him used. To my detriment. It was hard work.”
McGregor is known for earning mega-bucks throughout his career including for his own film 'Notorious' which generated huge box-office success. The Irishman has also generated huge wealth from his fighting exploits which include his multi-million payday for his boxing clash with legend Floyd Mayweather in 2017.
The Irishman last year topped the Forbes sporting rich-list earning an estimated $180 million in the year which included the majority stake sale of his whiskey brand 'Proper Twelve' to Proximo Spirits. With McGregor currently unable to compete, a lucrative payday could be worthwhile with his comeback now not expected to take place until next March at the earliest.

Despite his acting taking centre stage, McGregor has shown off some impressive physical shape with his new bulky build and his manager Tim Simpson has claimed he is on track to return next year after being unable to decline the acting opportunity. "A fun little venture then switching back to climbing the mountain again. It fits in perfectly," Simpson told MMA Junkie. "He’s still on track for a big return next year, but this fits in perfectly in the meantime.
"Acting wasn't something I think that Conor at the very front of his mind, right now he's still a world class athlete and his focus is being the best fighter in the world. But as the injury continues to heal and he continues to prepare for a comeback, the timing worked well. It's a great opportunity to do a big Hollywood blockbuster in meantime and he's going to kill it. The leg is still healing, I think there's a little bit more to go on that but he's been training like a madman."
