Conor McGregor 'hit by a car while cycling - then got a lift home with driver'

Conor McGregor says he got hit by a car whilst out on a bicycle ride which he said could have killed him - before the driver that hit him gave him a lift home.

The Crumlin native took to social media in the aftermath of the accident, thanking God and saying that his wrestling and judo experience helped him save himself on his fall.

Writing on Instagram, he said: "Got a bang of a car just now from behind.

"A sun trap, the driver couldn’t see me. Thank you God, it wasn’t my time.

"Thank you wrestling and judo also. Having an awareness on the landing saved my life."

In a video of the aftermath of the collision, the driver of the car appears to apologise. McGregor responds: "All good mate, all good. Don't worry about it."

"I'm totally sorry - seriously," the other man says. Then he offers Conor a lift home as well, which McGregor accepts.

In a seconded video in the post taken inside the man's, Conor asks the man's name. He said it was Nick.

McGregor responded: "It wasn't my time Nick that's all. We are still here thank God - that's all that matters."
