Conor McGregor earned a massive €250,000 per punch landed during his 2017 boxing bout with Floyd Mayweather, research has claimed.
The Dubliner's sole venture into the boxing ring against the American attracted a staggering pay-per-view audience of 5.174 million, and despite only completing one professional fight, new research has revealed that McGregor is the 2nd highest-earning boxer per punch behind Mayweather.
Betsperts have looked at some of the biggest fights since 2010 to reveal the fighters who have earned the most per punch, calculating the amount of money earned per successful punch, as well as the losing fighters with the highest prize purses.

McGregor lost the Las Vegas bout, with Mayweather stopping him in the tenth round at the T Mobile Arena.
But the Notorious has teased a return to boxing at some stage in the future, telling Sky Sports last year: "Boxing is my first love in combat sports. I had such a great time the last time I was out there.
"Obviously, my return will be in the octagon for UFC – that story is far from over, in fact it’s just being written, it is just the beginning.
"But, boxing, for sure I will grace the squared circle again in the future."
McGregor is set to fight Michael Chandler later this year in what will be his first bout since the summer of 2021 when he suffered a horror leg break in his second consecutive defeat to Dustin Poirier.
