Conor Gallagher sees new Chelsea arrival Raheem Sterling as a leader who will inspire the club’s young players.
The pair know each other from England duty and Gallagher is excited by the quality that Sterling will bring to last season’s FA Cup Finalists.
“He’s a massive signing,” said the midfielder. “The experience he has in the Premier League is so important for Chelsea.
"He’s a top attacking player. He scores goals, gets assists. Off the pitch he is very professional and he helps the younger players as well which is good.
"I feel like what he has achieved already in his career is kind of natural to turn him into a little bit of a leader, with all the experience and advice he can give to young players.
“At England he speaks to the younger boys like me and a couple of the others and he is great. Also, on the pitch, that’s where it is most important and that’s where he will do his thing.”

For Gallagher, the shoe will be on the other foot after Sterling welcomed him into the international fold on England duty.
“He makes you feel welcome and at the time I was new to the England team,” he went on. “But he makes you feel welcome and he is one of the biggest players in that squad.
“A player like him probably wasn’t happy with not playing every game at City. They have loads of world class players. So I feel this was a great move for him and for Chelsea as well. It can only benefit him and us.”
