Hibs rising star Connor Young is reportedly a target for Rangers as they continue their youth recruitment drive.
The 17-year-old fired 25 goals for the Leith side's Under-18s last season as they charged to the league title. He's seen as a very bright prospect coming through the ranks at Easter Road and netted two hat-tricks last season as they pipped Rangers to the post in the Under-18 league.
The Edinburgh Evening News news report he has caught the eye at Ibrox and is set to join the academy side imminently. It's claimed he will move for a five-figure sum, and is likely to go into the Gers' B-team in the Lowland League next season. Hibs will be disappointed to lose the youngster who is viewed as a serious first-team prospect by Lee Johnson 's team. He penned his first professional contract in January 2021. Young, formerly of Hearts, will become the latest in a long line of promising prospects to head to Ibrox this season as Gers build for the future.
Record Sport understands they are battling it out with Celtic to land St Mirren starlet Dylan Reid.
They have also gone out and bought Bailey Rice from Motherwell, Lancelot Pollard from Aberdeen, Cammy Cooper from Partick Thistle and Kieron Willox from Inverness in recent months. And they have been active south of the border bringing in Zak Lovelace from Millwall, Everton’s Cameron Bell and Archie Stevens from AFC Wimbledon.
