Pundits Kris Boyd and Sean Dillon were in agreement that referee Steven McLean was right to dismiss Dundee United's claims for a penalty against Connor Goldson.
The Rangers defender has been in the headlines lately after Celtic were contentiously denied a penalty last week despite the ball striking his arm in the box. It's sparked huge debate with boss Michael Beale claiming it wasn't a penalty by the rules, with Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou insisting it was a clear spot-kick.
Goldson was amongst it again in the first half of their clash with United when a ball in from the right appeared to brush his hand. But whistler McLean wasn't interested and VAR Steve Kirkland agreed as the game went into half-time scoreless. The pundits then debated it but there was a unanimous verdict as Dillon said: "If that was me and that was given against me I’d be raging. If that was my hand that it hit. I don’t know what to say any more. It doesn’t matter what league it is.
And Boyd added: "I don’t think it’s a penalty. It’s come in from a corner. Where can he put his hand? The confusion comes from, before the World Cup, a penalty being awarded every time the ball hit the hand. Now the referees have seen some sense and realised that not every handball is a penalty kick. I don’t know what Connor Goldson is meant to do there."
