Connor Bedard has been named captain of the Chicago Blackhawks at just 21, yet the franchise's new on-ice leader is expected to miss the start of the season while he recovers from shoulder surgery.

The superstar has been confirmed as the 37th captain in Blackhawks history and the second-youngest to wear the 'C', following Jonathan Toews, who was 20 when he was given the honour.
