Connor Barron to Rangers transfer latest as timeline for decision 'revealed'

Connor Barron will decide on his transfer future next week, according to a report.

The Aberdeen midfielder has been linked with a switch to Rangers with the Ibrox club stepping up efforts to sign the Scotland youth player

Rangers are hopeful of fending off transfer moves from England and Italy to land Barron after his contract at Aberdeen expired.

Aberdeen would be due a compensation fee for the training and development of the player despite being eligible for a free transfer.

Now, a Daily Record report has claimed Barron will decide on his future next week with offers to sign him from the Championship and Serie A.

Hellas Verona have reported tabled an offer with Bologna linked with a possible contract offer too.

Swansea City, Cardiff City, Plymouth and Stoke have also reportedly made moves to land Barron this summer.

The report claims Barron could leave for a club outside of Scotland for a £500k compensation fee.

It's claimed playing time, how he fits in and where he will develop best will be the main considerations for Barron when deciding on his next club.

Philippe Clement has already boosted his Rangers squad for next season with three signings this summer.

Clinton Nsiala signed on at Ibrox from AC Milan on Monday with Jefte and Oscar Cortes also agreeing permanent deals at Rangers in the off-season.

Meanwhile, Tommy Conway has been tipped to be at the centre of a transfer battle between Celtic and Rangers.

It's claimed that offers will be made by both of Glasgow's big two after Euro 2024.

That is if it becomes clear that the 21-year-old will run down the final 12 months of his contract at Bristol City.

Conway was last week called into the senior national team squad by Steve Clarke to replace the injured Lyndon Dykes.
