A conman is going door to door in the Dublin mountains scamming old and vulnerable people who are living alone into parting with large sums of money with bogus gutter and patio services.
People, particularly those in the Bohernabreena and Glenasmole areas, should be cautious, Independent Councillor Alan Edge told Dublin Live. Gardai have been made aware of the situation, he said.
One conman has managed to extract sums of money from vulnerable people - and he’s providing names of other people in the area on the doors to establish trust. “It’s important that people have a chat with older or vulnerable relatives about the dangers of accepting offers to do work to their property from people calling to the door,” Cllr Edge said.
