Congressman Moskowitz Urges Resistance Against Trump's Immigration Plans

Trump is allegedly echoing Hitler's language, causing concern among some Democrats.

In a recent interview, Democratic Congressman Jared Moskowitz of Florida expressed his concern over former President Trump's rhetoric about immigrants. Echoing his opposition over Trump's inflammatory statements, he suggested that Trump is 'flooding the zone” with such remarks that people often overlook their seriousness. According to Moskowitz, Trump’s words are not mere jests; rather, they serve as a signal of his intentions should he regain power.

Furthermore, Moskowitz denounced the former President's idea of setting up mass detention camps for undocumented immigrants. He criticized Trump’s failure to effectively control immigration during his term and blamed him for mishandling the issue by blaming minority groups.

In response to possible attempts from Trump to establish such camps, Moskowitz assured that the Democrats are prepared to resist just as resolutely as before, emphasizing the urgency of keeping Trump away from the White House.

Concerning the conflict between Israel and Hamas, the Congressman affirmed full support for Israel. However, he asked for a comprehensive investigation into the accidental shooting of three Israeli hostages by the Israeli military and suggested Israel should shift from aerial to ground strategies.

Moskowitz further highlighted the pressing need to pass the Israel aid package put forward in the U.S. Congress, lamenting the delay in its passing. He emphasized the need for the aid package to go through, arguing Israel’s progress in the conflict depends on it.

The Congressman also advocated for strong backing for Ukraine against the invasion of Vladimir Putin, stressing that a win for Putin could encourage China to act similarly in Taiwan and Europe.

On the border security issue, Moskowitz advocates for a grand deal that includes elements such as more border agents, increased use of technology, and the creation of effective policies. He noted that while the Democrats will continue to uphold the U.S. as a refuge for those fleeing persecution, they are open to reforms at the border.

Finally, while expressing hope for a major bipartisan deal on Israel, Ukraine, and the border, Moskowitz warned of potential opposition from both the right and the left. Regardless, he argued for the necessity of taking action wherever bipartisan agreement can be found.
