Republican counterparts have proposed stringent measures, including limiting asylum and parole. Congressman Khanna acknowledged the need for compromise but emphasized that compromising on parole is not an option. Parole has been instrumental in safeguarding refugees from war-torn countries like Ukraine and Afghanistan, and abolishing it could lead to increased pressure at the border.
