In a recent interview, Congressman Dean Phillips made it clear that he intends to continue his presidential campaign despite the lackluster poll numbers, expressing a determination to bring attention to the need for change within the Democratic Party. While acknowledging the immense challenge ahead, Phillips highlighted the fact that his campaign had gained significant traction in a short period, surpassing initial expectations and garnering an increasing level of support.
Reflecting on his progress, Phillips noted that just ten weeks ago, he was practically unknown in political circles. However, through a grassroots movement and a lean, startup-style operation, his campaign has managed to make an impact. Although some polls currently place him at around 7%, others indicate support as high as 32%. Phillips emphasized the need to focus not solely on the numbers, but rather on the broader narrative of challenging the incumbent President Joe Biden within his own party.
