THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Congress in the state has also decided to field a young candidate for the Rajya Sabha election. This was disclosed by KPCC president K Sudhakaran after his meeting with AICC leader Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi on Wednesday.
He said the state leadership has urged the party high command to consider young faces for the Rajya Sabha. “The party leadership will take a final decision on this in two days. Many leaders are under consideration and many have evinced interest also,” he said.
There are reports that former Youth Congress state president M Lijju and V T Balram are in the probables list. However, the KPCC president said the leadership has not given any panel or suggested any names to the party high command. But a set of names that can be considered had come in the discussion, he said.
