The Congress party is united and will sweep the Assembly polls in Rajasthan, party leader Rahul Gandhi said on November 16, standing with Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and his former deputy Sachin Pilot.
“We are not just seen together but we are together and will remain so. The Congress party will sweep the elections here,” Mr. Gandhi told reporters at the Jaipur airport, before leaving for Nohar in Hanumangarh district and Sadulshahar in Sriganganagar district to address public rallies there in the run-up to the November 25 election.
Mr. Gehlot, Mr. Pilot, and Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee chief Govind Singh Dotasra were all accompanying Mr. Gandhi.
The former Congress chief’s comment on a united Congress came soon after Mr. Gehlot projected a similar picture of inner party unity.
“Ek Saath, Jeet Rahe Hain Phir Se (Together, we are winning again),” Mr. Gehlot said in a social media post on Wednesday. He also shared a photograph of a Tuesday review meeting, showing general secretary (organisation) K.C. Venugopal, and Mr. Pilot, who had flown in from campaigning in Bhopal to attend.
