
The demand came after Puri acknowledged that he had met Epstein “three or four times” over a span of eight years, describing the interactions as strictly professional. The minister’s admission followed allegations raised by Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, who claimed that documents released by the US Department of Justice mention Puri in connection with Epstein.
Addressing reporters, Congress leader Pawan Khera said the party believes Puri has no right to continue in office. “Clearly, the Congress is demanding the resignation of Hardeep Singh Puri. This person has no right to remain in his position. In the last 48 hours, he has only lied,” Khera said. He added that the party would take the issue to the public, alleging that the government appeared “compromised.”
