Congo's confirmed Ebola cases rise to 544

DAKAR — Africa's top ​public ​health ‌agency said on Monday that the number of confirmed Ebola ​cases ⁠in the Democratic Republic of Congo ‌had risen to 544.

Of those cases, ⁠515 had been in Congo's Ituri province, the epicentre of the ​outbreak, the Africa Centres for ​Disease Control ‌and Prevention presentation showed.

The Africa ​CDC ⁠gave Congo's confirmed Ebola ⁠deaths as 88.

On Sunday Congolese government data ⁠put confirmed ​Ebola cases at 515 and deaths at 91.

In Thailand, provincial governors nationwide have been instructed to strengthen Ebola surveillance and prevention measures following outbreaks in Uganda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
