Concord just has a few short days left before it goes offline. Yes, you read that right.
In an announcement that has come as a shock for many, Sony has revealed that it will be shutting down Concord. The game's servers will go offline on September 6, which is exactly two weeks after the game's official launch. The official launch took place on August 23.
In addition to this, sales of the game were abruptly cut off on September 3. As of press time, Sony has not revealed an official reason behind the game's shutdown. It has also not been revealed if Concord will return at some point in the future.
According to a report by GameSpot, Concord saw a very low number of players on Steam. It is also estimated that the sales of the game only reached 25,000 as of the end of August.
Is a Comeback Possible?
The same report by GameSpot notes that the developers at Firewalk Studios are now studying their options after the sudden shutdown. Many gamers took this as a sign that Concord may end up making a comeback, potentially as a free-to-play game.
However, as of press time, no future plans for the title have been made by its developers or by Sony.

Can Players Expect Refunds?
Despite the very low sales Concord experience, there are those who took a chance on the game and gave it a try. These players, according to Sony, will be refunded.
Those who purchased from Steam will be refunded by the platform in the coming days, according to the announcement shared on the PlayStation Blog. The same will be the case for those who purchased from the Epic Games Store.
Those who purchased physical copies from retailers are advised to refer to the refund process of the specific retailer they purchased from.
Concord
Released on August 23, 2024, Concord is a first-person shooter game available for the PlayStation 5 and Windows. This player-versus-player hero shooter game incorporates sci-fi elements, such as alien characters.
At launch, the game had 16 characters, but more were promised post-launch. More maps were also promised as part of post-launch updates.
However, with the bombshell announcement of the game going offline, it remains to be seen if Concord will be resurrected to bring these promised updates in the future.
