The concerts of several musicians accused of supporting former Syrian president Bashar al-Assad have been cancelled this summer in towns across Syria. People in the city of Homs tore down posters announcing performances by singers Mohamad Iskandar and Hossam Jneed, denouncing their previous links with the regime. One of the artists publicly apologised.

On July 20, angry people in the city of Homs in central Syria ripped down posters advertising concerts for two singers accused of supporting the regime of deposed president Bashar al-Assad.
