Missing 15-year-old girl found by police after 'out of character' disappearance

A frantic search has been launched for a missing teenage girl who hasn't been seen since Sunday. Ashleigh Paterson, from Hamilton, South Lanarkshire, had been with friend at Airbles Train Station in Motherwell at around 9.30pm.

Her current whereabouts are unknown with friends and family becoming increasingly concerned for her.

Police in Hamilton have described the 15-year-old's disappearance was "out of character".

Ashleigh is described as being of slim build, black hair, about 5ft 2ins and was wearing a black puffer jacket and black leggings the last time she was seen.

Inspector Nicol from Hamilton Police Station said: "Ashleigh has been missing for a number of hours now, this is out of character for her and her friends and family are understandably concerned.

"We have a number of police resources out looking for Ashleigh and I am seeking the assistance from the public in an effort to trace her.

"Ashleigh may have travelled to a different area, if you believe you have seen her, have knowledge of her whereabouts or other pertinent information, please contact 101 quoting incident no. 3504 of Sunday, 20th November 2022."
