UPDATE: Rachel Pokutova has now been found, police have confirmed. A spokesperson for the force added: "Thanks to those who shared our appeal."

POLICE are appealing for help in the search for a 16-year-old girl who has been missing overnight.

Rachel Pokutova was last seen on Dalblair Road in Ayr at around 9.50pm on Thursday, July 23.

She is described as around 5ft 3ins tall, of medium build and has shoulder-length black hair.

When last seen, the teenager was wearing black sliders with a pink fur trim, maroon leggings, a black jacket, and had a handbag with a gold chain.

She is believed to have travelled to the Kilmarnock area.

Inspector William Deans said: “Concerns are growing for Rachel’s welfare, and we are keen to trace her as soon as possible to make sure she is safe.

“I would ask that anyone who has information on where Rachel may be or has seen someone matching her description get in touch with officers.

“I’d also appeal to Rachel directly – if you see this, please let us know you are safe.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 2639 of 23 July, 2026.
