Concerns grow for Scots walker who vanished overnight as cops probe 'unusual' disappearance

A Scots walker has vanished overnight from his home in Aberdeenshire, sparking concern among family members.

David Currie left his home in the Ruthven area of Huntly on foot in the early hours of Thursday, October 6, but has not been seen or heard from since.

The 60-year-old's loved ones say his disappearance is 'unusual' and officers are now asking for the public's help as part of their ongoing efforts to find him as worries mount for his welfare.

David is described as being 6 foot 3 inches tall, of slim build with short grey balding hair and a short grey beard. He wears glasses and has a hearing aid in his left ear. He is believed to be wearing blue jeans, a green fleece and black boots.

Cops think David may have wandered far from his home address. Anyone with any information which could be beneficial in the hunt for the elderly man is being urged to come forward.

Sgt Debbie Burnett said, ’It is unusual for David to go missing and not to be in contact with his family. As time passes we grow increasingly concerned for his wellbeing.

"He is a keen walker and could well have travelled some distance from his house.’ People with more details are being asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting ref MPR6619761022.
