Concerns grow for missing Scots hillwalker last seen heading for hike four days ago

Concern is mounting over a missing Scots hiker who was last seen in the Highlands four days ago.

Derek Hepburn, from Nairn, vanished from his hometown on Sunday, April 24.

The 53-year-old has not been in touch with his family since, which police say this is completely out of character.

Officers believe that the keen hillwalker travelled from his home address to go hiking.

Although still unconfirmed, it is thought that he may have driven 33 miles to Moy to complete a walk.

Derek is described as 6ft 1, of a slim build with black, blading hair.

He is normally clean shaven with light stubble. His current clothing is unknown.

Derek is believed to be driving a red Dacia Sandero, registration number SY64FZN.

Anyone who thinks they may have seen Derek or his vehicle since Saturday, April 23, or has any information on his whereabouts, is urged to contact police.

They can be reached by calling 101, quoting reference 1812 of April 27, 2022.
