Concerns About Brazil Sugar Production Underpins Sugar Prices

October NY world sugar #11 (SBV24) today is up +0.14 (+0.73%), and Oct London ICE white sugar #5 (SWV24) is up +8.40 (+1.56%).

Sugar prices today are moving higher for a third session, with NY sugar posting a 1-week high and London sugar posting a 2-week high. Sugar has carryover support from Thursday when Unica reported that Center-South sugar production in the second half of August fell -6.0% y/y to 3.258 MMT. Although, for the 2024/25 season through August, sugar production is up +3.9% y/y to 27.169 MMT.
