The long standoff between the Heat and Trail Blazers rages on as no deal has yet to be done regarding Damian Lillard with no resolution in sight. The star point guard has made it clear he only wants to be traded to Miami but it has become apparent that Portland may be looking for more than what the Heat can offer. Apparently, the Trail Blazers have gone so far as to give the Hear the silent treatment.
During an appearance on the D-Lo & KC Show on Thursday, Bleacher Report’s Chris Haynes said Portland has stopped hearing Miami out in regards to a possible trade.
“Portland is refusing to talk to Miami,” Haynes said. “Miami understands that they don’t have the assets. But they want to know, ‘Hey Portland, we’ll involve a third or fourth team but communicate with us and let us know what you are looking for.’ It hasn’t gotten to that stage.”
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported on Friday that there’s “no trade imminent” but conversations to move Lillard have been ongoing—but they don’t involve the Heat. It’s unclear if the chances of Lillard landing in South Beach are dead in the water, but a resolution doesn’t seem to be on the horizon.
