Concern over flats as residents say they 'don't want people looking into their homes'

Neighbours living on a private road said they "do not want people to look into their homes" as work starts on a new 20-flat development. This will replace the 28 bedroom care home which was demolished in 2017 on a plot of land located at the corner of Burton Road and Highclere Drive, in Carlton.

A planning application for "ten or more dwellings" was submitted to the Gedling Borough Council in December last year. The site, which is bordered by temporary fencing, also comprises a number of protected trees.

Monika Stawicka, who works for Women's Aid, said: "We have lived here for about a year, so when we moved here it was already decided."
