Concern is mounting over the whereabouts of a missing man who vanished from a Scots hospital last week.
Stephen McFarlane was last seen on CCTV at the Inverclyde Royal Hospital in Greenock at 2am on Thursday, July 7. Since then, officers have been carrying out extensive inquiries, including checking CCTV and questioning local taxi and transport companies.
Despite their efforts, there have been no further sightings of the 32-year-old. Officers are becoming increasingly concerned for Stephen's well-being, as he is required to take daily medication.
He is described as around 5ft10in tall, of a slim build and with short hair. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a white polo shirt with a grey collar, grey jogging bottoms and black Nike trainers.
Police Scotland has urged anybody who has information on Stephen's whereabouts to contact officers immediately.
Inspector Paul Thompson, of Greenock Police Station, said: “Since Stephen was reported missing on July 11, officers have been checking CCTV and making enquiries locally, including taxi and transport companies, however, since being seen at the hospital there have been no further sightings and no one has heard from him.
“He is required to take daily medication which we don’t believe he has with him or access to hence our concern for his well-being. We would ask people to get in touch with police if they see him as a matter of urgency. We, along with his family, just want to make sure he is safe and well.”
Police can be contacted by calling 101 and quoting incident number 2416 of Monday, 11 July, 2022.
