Residents in Long Eaton have shared concerns after plans for nearly 50 new homes were approved. The proposals for the 46 properties at Oakleys Mills, a former industrial site, on Oakleys Road, were passed earlier this month by Erewash Borough Council.
The development is by Kaplan Property Group. Access to the homes will be from Oakleys Road.
Residents have expressed worries about the scheme. Linda Braughton, 75, said: "What bothers me is the infrastructure and the traffic.

"People belting around here, it's a busy island. Rather than going through Long Eaton, a lot of people cut through.
"It's just the infrastructure and traffic. Doctors, you can't get an appointment - it's everything really. If there weren't so many houses it wouldn't be such a problem.
"Something does need doing with it - it's been like that for years and years. I've lived here for 40 years and I can't remember it being any different."
Another resident, Marilyn Large, 70, has lived in the area for two years. She said: "I've thought about the traffic - it's very busy.
"It's busy in the morning with school. With infrastructure, I don't think it's coping well - you can't see a doctor.
"I haven't got school children so I don't know the figures with the schools, but I have thought about that. I knew it was coming - I think it's troublesome."
Another local resident, who wanted to remain anonymous, said: "I know about the plans.
"I think it will cause some disruption. This road is usually busy - there's a school down the road so it gets really busy at times.
"The area isn't too bad - it is close to the town centre and train station. I just think the traffic is my main issue - the new homes will only add to that.
"I just think that the roads may not cope."
Nottinghamshire Live has asked Kaplan Property Group if it wants to respond to people's concerns.
