Residents have spoken of their "concern" following reports of a "serious" assault in their street in Carlton. Officers were called to Ramsdale Road shortly before 11.45am on Saturday, March 19, and a police cordon was put in place at the top of the street.
A man has been taken to hospital with injuries that are not thought to be life-threatening or life-altering. Patrols were in the area to reassure the public as the police investigation continue. Residents have spoken about their "shock" at having a police cordon on their usually quiet street.
Jordan Whiting, 26, a builder who lives on the road, said: "I wasn’t in when it happened I was out and about but they’ve been here for at least three hours. They’ve just been sitting at the top of the road I don’t know what’s gone on. Hopefully everything’s ok but it’s not looking likely with how long they’ve been there. That’s what concerns me.”

Samantha Powell, 29, said: "I had to walk the long way round to get past the cordon and on the way to my house. This sort of thing never happens around here - I've definitely not seen a police cordon on here before. I moved here recently because I knew it was a nice area with not much crime so I'm shocked. God, you just hope they're okay."
Another resident, who wished to remain anonymous, said: "I didn't see any of it as we're quite tucked away. The last time something like this happened was on New Year's Eve when somebody was attacked - there was some commotion then but never a police cordon. I think they've been here for a number of hours but I think most of it's been cleared now - there are less police cars now."
Police said they are attempting to understand the circumstances of what happened. A woman who wished to remain anonymous added: "I was worried because my mum and dad, even though they're on holiday, live near the police cordon so I rushed out concerned. You never get anything like this around here, though - never."
Inspector Matt Scott, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “High visibility patrols are in the area to reassure the public while officers work hard to understand the circumstances of what happened. “Anyone who saw the incident or has information is asked is call us on 101 quoting incident 307 of 19 March 2022.”
