A TikTok post from New York creator Real Mom (@the_accidental_adult) triggered backlash after she shared a video showing her young son resting outside during a stomach illness because of her emetophobia, or fear of vomiting.
The now-viral clip showed the child lying on a dog bed set up in the driveway while his father remained nearby. The setup included blankets, books, and a small chair. Text over the video read, “POV: you have emetophobia, so your toddler’s stomach virus gets moved to the driveway.” The clip used the song “It’s the Hard Knock Life” from the musical Annie.
