Passengers are set for further travel disruption after the maritime and transport workers union, RMT, announced a new wave of industrial action for the upcoming Bonfire weekend.
The Network Rail strikes come amid an ongoing dispute over pay and working conditions between the rail operator and staff.
Last Saturday (October 29), ScotRail staff went on strike during the Scotland v Australia Rugby match at Murrayfield, affecting thousands of travel plans to and from the capital.
RMT members working for Network Rail have announced further 24-hour strikes throughout the end of this week and at the beginning of next week.
In a statement on its website, ScotRail said: "This industrial action will take place across the Great Britain railway network, including ScotRail services. resulting from a pay dispute with Network Rail.
"This dispute does not involve ScotRail staff, however, it will have a major knock-on effect on the train operator’s ability to provide services as the RMT planned action will involve Network Rail staff in Scotland."

Network Rail, which owns and operates most UK rail infrastructure, urged customers to check their journeys before travelling, adding: "Travelling this November?
"Planned strike action will affect rail services from Saturday 5 to Thursday 10.
"Check before you travel and please only travel by train if your journey is absolutely necessary"
When are the Network Rail strikes taking place?
The Network Rail strikes will be taking place on Saturday, November 5, Monday, November 7, and Wednesday, November 9.
What routes will be in operation during the Network Rail strikes?
The following routes are to operate between 07.30 and 18.30 on Saturday, November 5, Monday, November 7, and Wednesday, November 9:
- Edinburgh – Glasgow via Falkirk High: two trains per hour
- Edinburgh – Helensburgh: two trains per hour (Saturday timetable)
- Edinburgh – Helensburgh: two trains per hour (Monday and Wednesday timetable)
- Glasgow – Hamilton/Larkhall: two trains per hour
- Glasgow – Lanark: two trains per hour
- Edinburgh – Glasgow via Shotts: one train per hour
- Edinburgh – Cowdenbeath: two trains per hour
- Edinburgh – Tweedbank: two trains per hour
- Edinburgh - Larbert: one train per hour
- Glasgow Queen St – Larbert: one train per hour
- Glasgow Queen St – Falkirk Grahamston: one train per hour
- Milngavie – Springburn: two trains per hour (Saturday timetable)
- Milngavie – Springburn: two trains per hour (Monday and Wednesday timetable)
