Commuters and school pupils scramble to make plans for next week's Translink bus strike

Roads across Northern Ireland are set to be busier than usual as the impact of the looming bus strike forces commuters to make alternative plans.

A "complete shutdown" of bus services in Northern Ireland will kick off soon during the same week as some A-Level exams.

Planned strike action last month by the GMB and Unite unions was called off after Translink made a revised pay offer, but unions rejected the offer on Monday.

Unions announced the strike action this week, to begin on May 17, after a revised pay offer from Translink was refused.

And while there will be a predicted "complete shutdown" of bus services, motorists must still adhere to bus lane rules and times.

As a result all those who rely on public transport will have to make alternative arrangements. So we want to know how you will be affected and what plans you have put in place to get to work, school or your general day to day living.
