An environmental organization recently organized several events aimed at sea turtle conservation in Bauang, La Union, Philippines. One of the events saw around 250 community members coming together to clean a beach that serves as a nesting site for endangered sea turtles. The volunteers, in a remarkable display of dedication, managed to clear a staggering 3,000 pounds (approximately 1,360 kilograms) of trash from the coastline, helping to create a safer environment for the marine creatures.
Another event that drew significant participation was Curma's coastal run, which attracted over 1,200 individuals. The run featured various categories, ranging from a 1-kilometer (0.6-mile) 'fun run' to a more challenging 5-kilometer (3.1-mile) race. Participants laced up their sneakers and hit the coastal route, showcasing their support for sea turtle conservation through physical activity and community engagement.
