It's now been two weeks since EA Sports announced it would be handing out free Community TOTS Player Packs as compensation, and impacted players are yet to receive anything in-game.
With the FIFA 23 Team of the Season (TOTS) promo well underway, there seems to be non-stop content being released in Ultimate Team, with new SBCs, Objectives and TOTS items being released daily. In the current TOTS promo, each squad not only includes TOTS items but also TOTS Moments items, with these usually lower-rated than the rest of the squad. The first TOTS squad to receive a TOTS Upgrade SBC in FIFA 23 was the Community TOTS, but an error on EA's part resulted in compensation being promised.
The Community TOTS Upgrade SBC's description originally read: "Earn a Community TOTS Player from the Community TOTS Squad". The description never mentioned TOTS Moments items being included, so when players were given Community TOTS Moments players, EA was forced to award compensation, but it's yet to be rolled out.
FIFA 23 Community TOTS compensation missing
On May 4, EA tweeted from its @EAFIFADirect Twitter account: “Players who completed this SBC and received a TOTS Moments Player Item prior to this update will receive a Community TOTS Player Item in the coming days“. It's now been 14 days since promising compensation in the "coming days", yet no one has received anything, and there have been no further updates by EA.
This isn't a good look for EA, having not rolled out compensation to impacted players two weeks after saying it would. Many FIFA players have taken to social media over the last few days to complain about how long it's taking, and that can be seen in the comment sections of any recent @EAFIFADirect Tweet, with nearly all the replies regarding the Community TOTS compensation.
This is not the only mistake EA has made during the TOTS promo in FUT 23 so far, either. The day before the Community TOTS and Eredivisie TOTS were meant to enter Packs, two TOTS players were released early by accident. And more recently, EA mistakingly released La Liga TOTS players into FUT Packs, two days before the official release.
We have reached out to EA for an update on when compensation will start to roll out.
