On the day before the attempted assassination of Donald Trump, a tactical team of local police officers set aside radios for their Secret Service partners for communication during the former president's campaign rally. Unfortunately, those radios were never picked up, leading to critical communication failures during the event.
Three minutes before shots were fired towards Trump, local police radioed about a man on a nearby roof, but this warning never reached the Secret Service snipers. The lack of coordination resulted in the shooter being able to fire eight shots before being neutralized.
