Commonwealth Games 2026 Schedule India Today (July 25): After Jhandu Kumar’s bronze, India eyes progress in gymnastics, swimming and boxing in Glasgow; check full schedule for day 3

India had a busy and encouraging Day 2 at the Commonwealth Games 2026 on July 24, with action spread across para powerlifting, swimming, gymnastics, boxing and lawn bowls.

Commonwealth Games Day 2 Highlights

The biggest highlight was Jhandu Kumar winning a bronze medal in para powerlifting, which opened India’s medal account at the Games.

In swimming, Srihari Nataraj progressed to the semifinals of the 50m backstroke, while Indian para swimmers also competed strongly in their respective heats. In gymnastics, the Indian men’s team delivered a steady performance in qualification rounds, keeping hopes alive for individual finals. Boxing action also got underway, with India assured of at least one medal as Lovlina Borgohain reached the semifinals, guaranteeing a bronze.

Commonwealth Games 2026 Schedule India Today

India is set to compete in five sports on Saturday, July 25, at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. The day’s schedule includes 3x3 wheelchair basketball along with boxing, lawn bowls, swimming, and artistic gymnastics. It is likely to be a relatively quiet day for India in terms of medal prospects, as no confirmed medal events feature Indian athletes unless they advance to the finals in artistic gymnastics or swimming. In boxing, Sachin Siwach will be the lone Indian in action, beginning his campaign in the men’s 60kg category.

2:30 PM onwards – Artistic Gymnastics: Pranati Nayak, Nishka Agarwal, Eshita Rewale and Protistha Samanta in women’s team & individual qualification rounds (medal event if they qualify)

3:50 PM – Lawn Bowls: India vs Tonga in Women’s Pairs sectional match

4:00 PM – Boxing: Sachin Siwach vs Keoma Al-Ahmadieh (Canada) in men’s 60kg Round of 32

4:19 PM – Swimming: Dhakshan Shashikumar in men’s 400m freestyle heats (final at 11:30 PM if he qualifies)

4:43 PM – 3x3 Wheelchair Basketball: India vs Wales in women’s Pool B match

7:30 PM – Lawn Bowls: Putul Sonowal vs Izzat Shameer Dzulkeple (Malaysia) in men’s singles

12:20 AM (next day) – Swimming: Srihari Nataraj in men’s 50m backstroke final (if he qualifies)
