Common household appliances costing you more money as cost of living crisis continues

As we head into the coming months with energy prices set to skyrocket, families will be looking for ways to save on their bills.

Money Saving Expert Martin Lewis has issued warnings, urging people to prepare now ahead of the next energy price cap rise. He warned people should consider fixing their gas and electricity bills at double their current rates amid predictions of average household bills hitting £5,000 a year by January - up from just £1,200 per year as recently as 2021.

The ECHO previously reported that even just a handful of common household appliances can hoover up a total of £1,011.93 per year if you leave them on standby. By turning off some appliances it could save you a small fortune on your next bill.
