Conor Gallagher had a moment to forget as Chelsea lost to Charlotte FC on penalties amid the Blues' pre-season tour of the United States. Despite Christian Pulisic putting the west Londoners ahead in the opening half-an-hour, the tie finished 1-1 after 90 minutes, with the MLS side scoring from the spot in injury time.
Kai Havertz and Ben Chilwell found no issue with scoring Chelsea's first two penalties - and neither did the American outfit. Charlotte FC notched ahead to make it 3-2, and then Gallagher stepped up to level proceedings.
But, the 22-year-old fluffed his lines after attempting a 'Panenka' penalty. He clipped his effort into the goalkeeper's guard with little to no conviction, with Thomas Tuchel's side suddenly on the back-foot.

Raheem Sterling, who stepped up next, made no mistake from the spot, though Charlotte FC scored their fifth and final penalty. The loss looked to have somewhat dented many Chelsea fans' egos on social media, and it was a commentator's reaction that only added fuel to the fire.
The TNT Sports Brazil commentator saw the funny side of the 'worst penalty ever', and he didn't think twice before laughing. The coverage has since gone viral on Twitter, with many fans drawing their own conclusions.
@SZ_ctid said: "Might be one of the worst pens I've ever seen. What was he even trying?"
@SilkyJohnsin added: "Back to Crystal Palace, I've seen enough."
@Uncle_Chocolxte: "The commentator didn't have to laugh like that."
@folojami: "Lukaku's first spell at Chelsea vibes."
@KairoMoneybagg: "The most hilarious penalty kick I've seen in a while is Gallagher's tonight Vs Charlotte. The man literally attempted a pass, not a panenka."
@Ballard_mufc: "That's how I take a penalty against my 5-year-old son to make him think he is a good goalkeeper."
But, singing from a different hymn sheet, @kfootytakes said: "Please stop insulting him, it's a friendly, the best time to try a panenka because it's not like there's anything riding on it. Plus, we should've finished the game in regular time. Letting it go to penalty kicks is ridiculous."
