Commanders Week 13 snap counts vs. Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins sent the Washington Commanders into their bye week with a 45-15 defeat that dropped them to 4-9 on the season. It was Washington’s second consecutive game of allowing 45 points.

Sunday was also the Commanders’ first game without fired defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio. And as you can tell from the score, not much changed. Head coach Ron Rivera took over as Washington’s defensive play-caller, and while Rivera promised some changes, the results remained the same.

Did anything change regarding the personnel with Rivera calling the defense? We did notice one change. Let’s review the snap counts from Sunday’s loss to the Dolphins.

Offense

The right side of the offensive line, RT Andrew Wylie and RG Sam Cosmi, were the only two players to play every snap. Washington put in QB Jacoby Brissett, Nick Gates, Trent Scott and Cornelius Lucas for the final three plays in place of Sam Howell, Charles Leno, Tyler Larsen and Chris Paul.

At wide receiver, Terry McLaurin and Jahan Dotson led the way with 45 snaps. Curtis Samuel played 32 snaps and was far more productive.

Brian Robinson Jr. missed the second half with a hamstring injury, so Antonio Gibson led Washington’s running backs with 31 snaps. Chris Rodriguez Jr. and Robinson each played 12 snaps.

Defense

At defensive end, Casey Toohill led the way with 40 snaps, with rookies Andre Jones Jr. (34) and K.J. Henry (30) right behind him. Newly signed Jalen Harris saw 17 snaps.

At linebacker, Cody Barton played every snap again. Jamin Davis wasn’t far off, playing 55 snaps. Surprisingly, the Commanders went with three traditional linebackers more in this game, as Khaleke Hudson saw 28 snaps.

In the secondary, Kam Curl, Benjamin St-Juste and Kendall Fuller played every snap. Rookie Quan Martin continues to play more, as he saw 30 snaps.
