Commanders Week 10 snap counts vs. Seahawks

The Washington Commanders came close to winning their second consecutive game Sunday, but a defensive collapse prevented Washington from defeating the Seattle Seahawks and moving to 5-5.

Quarterback Sam Howell was phenomenal again, completing 29 of 44 passes for 312 yards and three touchdowns. Howell did not throw an interception; however, he did fumble on a scramble trying to pick up extra yards.

While Howell and running back Brian Robinson Jr. led the offense, the defense was atrocious, allowing 469 total yards. The Seahawks would get the ball back with just over 50 seconds remaining and quickly moved down the field to put kicker Jason Myers in position for the game-winning field goal.

Washington’s defense was on the field for 81 snaps. Let’s examine this week’s snap distribution for the Commanders offense and defense.

Offense

Once again, Howell and the starting offensive line played every snap.

Jahan Dotson played all but three snaps — five more than Terry McLaurin — yet did not have a catch. Logan Thomas played 45 snaps at tight end, followed by John Bates with 25. Bates made the most of his opportunities.

Brian Robinson Jr. was excellent, totaling 157 yards on 14 touches. He played 31 snaps with Antonio Gibson right behind him with 29 snaps.

Defense

Percy Butler, Kam Curl, Kendall Fuller and Benjamin St-Juste played every snap in the secondary. Linebacker Jamin Davis also played every snap.

Rookie cornerback Emmanuel Forbes played five snaps before his first-quarter ejection. Danny Johnson filled in with 49 snaps, while rookie Quan Martin also saw 18 snaps of action.

Linebacker David Mayo played 63 snaps and Khaleke Hudson saw eight snaps.

On the defensive line, Jonathan Allen and Daron Payne led the way with 67 and 64 snaps, respectively. Casey Toohill led the defensive ends with 61 snaps, with Efe Obada behind him (50). James Smith-Williams was injured in the game (24 snaps). Rookies K.J Henry (12) and Andre Jones Jr. (16) also saw action.
