The Commanders like receiver Jahan Dotson so much they are going to see how another Penn State receiver can do in Washington.
Dotson was the first-round selection of the Commanders in the 2022 draft at the No. 16 position. After this 2023 draft was completed, the Commanders have signed Penn State receiver Mitchell Tinsley as an undrafted free agent.
When you are as old as I am you learn that 90 players coming to camp annually is because an NFL team needs camp bodies. Bodies to practice, bodies to scrimmage, bodies to play the preseason games while coaches rest those they know will be on the regular season roster.
However, there are usually a couple of undrafted free agents who fight through training camp and do make an NFL regular season roster. Ryan Fowler of the Draft Network thinks Tinsley really can compete for a roster spot.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Mitchell Tinsley challenges for a roster spot in Washington.

Tinsley and Dotson actually were not teammates at Penn State. Tinsley was actually at Western Kentucky accumulating 1,402 receiving yards in 2021. He then transferred to Penn State for the 2022 season.
In his only season for the Nittany Lions, Tinsley caught 5 touchdown passes as part of his 577 receiving yards for the season.
