Washington Commanders rookie running back Brian Robinson Jr. traveled with the team to Detroit for their Week 2 game against the Lions.
Robinson, who was shot twice in an attempted carjacking last month in Washington, D.C., was placed on the non-football injury list to begin the season. That meant Robinson would miss at least the first four games of the season.
Last week, Robinson returned to practice and was seen riding a stationary bike. Considering he was shot twice only three weeks ago, it was a bit miraculous seeing him back with the team so soon.
On Sunday, it was more good news regarding Robinson’s prognosis. While he is still a few weeks away from returning to the field, he wouldn’t be traveling with the team if there wasn’t optimism surrounding his recovery.
Perhaps Robinson can inspire his teammates at halftime as the Commanders trail the Lions 22-0.
