Commanders fire VP of content Rael Enteen for derogatory comments on players, fans

The Washington Commanders have fired VP of content Rael Enteen after a video was shared of him making derogatory comments about the team’s own players, NFL fans, Jerry Jones and commissioner Roger Goodell. The team initially suspended him after the video surfaced Wednesday but he’s now been relieved of his duties entirely, according to reports.

The undercover video was recorded and shared by O’Keefe Media Group.

In the video, Enteen can be heard calling football fans “mouth breathers” and high school-educated alcoholics. He also said of the Commanders’ roster that “a big chunk is low-income African Americans that come from a community that is inherently very homophobic.”

When discussing Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, he said Jones “really runs the NFL” and “I think he hates gay people, Black people.”

The Commanders issued a statement after the video was made public Wednesday.

“The language used in the video runs counter to our values at the Commanders organization,” a spokesperson said. “We have suspended the employee pending an investigation and will reserve further comment at this time.”

Enteen had been with the team since he was hired in 2020.
