Comedian Mel Giedroyc has opened up about toilet humour of a different kind – revealing she relieves herself in her front garden.
The 54-year-old funny woman says her weak bladder is no joke and often she cannot make it into her house in time.
It gives new meaning to the famous soggy-bottom phrase – from The Great British Bake Off that she presented with long-term comedy partner Sue Perkins, 53.
Mel said: “As a lady of a certain age, sorry to share with you lovely young ’uns, it gets tricky.
"I often wazz in the garden because I can’t make it to the front door.”
Blaming it on the menopause, Mel told Ed Gamble and James Acaster on the Off Menu podcast: “It’s like Pavlov’s Dog.
"I go round the corner, see the house, things escalate, and one doesn’t always make it through the door.
"Your garden is your own, isn’t it? Front garden.”
Asked if she feared being seen, Mel said: “I’ve grown a quince tree so I can get under that.”
