Comedian Matt Richardson hospitalised with 'infection' affecting brain and can't remember Dublin gig with brother

British comedian Matt Richardson has said he was hospitalised with an odd 'infection' affecting his brain and has no recollection of attending the Green Day gig in Dublin with his brother.

It appears Matt’s memory was impacted by the infection which he says left him with amnesia.

In an Instagram post, Matt described how he went to see Green Day at Marlay Park but explained how he had no recollection of the concert and has since attended a hospital.

The 31-year-old said: “My brother and I went to see Green Day in Dublin last week. And I sadly can’t remember it as I’ve had a lovely infection which caused some wonderful effects to my brain and loads of amnesia.“

He shared a photo of himself at the concert with his brother, and wrote on Instagram: “After a really cool trip to the hospital I’m trying to piece it all together again. Hopefully the memories come back but if I owe you money, sorry you’re on your own x.”

Last year Matt competed and starred on Dancing On Ice, and previously presented ITV2 X Factor spin-off show The Xtra Factor when he replaced Olly Murs and presented alongside the late Caroline Flack in 2013.

Love Island Host Laura Whitmore sent well wishes to Matt in the comments, and said: “Hope you’re ok!!!”

Meanwhile British model Sam Rollinson joked: “You owe me 7 hours at a very expensive spa- to pay for the harrowing 7 hours at A and E."

He assured fans that he was fine after his ordeal, commenting: "Spoiler alert: I'm okay."

Richardson is currently the Drivetime presenter on Virgin Radio UK and began doing stand-up comedy when was 18.

He has also co-presented Celebrity Haunted Hotel Live and Celebrity Haunted Mansion with Christine Lampard.
