Bob Saget's cause of death was not a stroke or heart attack as first thought, but in fact a head trauma.
The Full House star, 65, died last month after a gig in Orlando.
He was found dead in a hotel room shortly after performing a two-hour gig and while reports immediately said there were "no signs of foul play or drug use," his family have now explained exactly what happened.
It's been discovered that the star had accidentally hit his head before going to sleep following the gig.
It's thought that the star wasn't aware of the severity of this head trauma which triggered a brain bleed.
In a statement to TMZ, the family said: "Now that we have the final conclusions from the authorities' investigation, we felt it only proper that the fans hear those conclusions directly from us.
"The authorities have determined that Bob passed away from head trauma. They have concluded that he accidentally hit the back of his head on something, thought nothing of it and went to sleep. No drugs or alcohol were involved."
The statement continued: "As we continue to mourn together, we ask everyone to remember the love and laughter that Bob brought to this world, and the lessons he taught us all: to be kind to everyone, to let the people you love know you love them, and to face difficult times with hugs and laughter."
Bob was tragically pronounced dead at the scene after emergency services were called to the Ritz-Carlton Orlando last month.
He had been touring the US, with his last dates taking him to venues in Florida. He performed at a show in Jacksonville and later tweeted about the audience.
He commented in a post on Twitter : "Loved tonight's show @PV_ConcertHall in Jacksonville. Appreciative audience. Thanks again to @RealTimWilkins for opening. I had no idea I did a 2 hr set tonight. I'm happily addicted again to this s**t."
After news of his death broke, fans and famous faces alike came together to pay tribute to the star.
Among this sending messages of condolence were his Full House co-stars. Bob played single dad Danny Tanner in the popular sitcom.
Actress Candace Cameron Bure, who played the oldest Tanner daughter DJ posted messages on social media following the news.
She took to Instagram to post pics of herself alongside Bob and wrote: "I love you sooooo much. I don’t want to say goodbye. 35 years wasn’t long enough."
John Stamos also took to Twitter to express his grief and wrote: "I am broken. I am gutted. I am in complete and utter shock. I will never ever have another friend like him. I love you so much Bobby."
Dave Coulier then tweeted: "I’ll never let go, brother. Love you."
