Come Dine With Me Glasgow viewers slam 'rank' food as local restaurants battle it out

Come Dine With Me The Professionals viewers were left feeling a little queasy after seeing what a Glasgow restaurant served up on Friday's episode.

In a new twist of the iconic show, Come Dine With Me is back but this time with professionals. On Friday's (July 22) episode, Glasgow took centre stage and served up three local eateries - Bloc+, Amore d'Italia and Maki and Ramen.

Through the episode, we watched the three restaurants battle it out for the grand prize and each contestant pulled out all the stops, and Pixie showed off her twerking skills. There was also a conflict of opinion regarding pasta as Italian chef Luca cooked up an al dente pesto pasta dish but not everyone was a fan.

The first duo up were Andy Neilson and Pixie from Bloc+ and served up a three course meal but viewers weren't impressed with the main. After Andy and Pixie served vegan 'Thai Me Up', their guests were then offered ramen noodle hot dogs with charcoaled buns.

One viewer wrote: "A glorified hot dog. For a cooking competition…"

Another said: "Them buns look ekk."

Along with the sick emoji, another added: "What is with those buns?"

"This food is rank," another slammed.

Meanwhile other's praised their unique flavours. One tweeted: "Just watching come dine with me in Glasgow and they made deep fried sticky toffee pudding. I have never seen anything so Scottish"

A another added: "Hot dog…Come Dine With Me….still UPLEVELLED."

But despite this, the guests didn't seem to mind the main at all and the pair walked away as winners. Bloc+ is often a go-to for locals as they serve a wide vegan menu alongside meat options with a laid back atmosphere with live music nights.

Speaking to Glasgow Live earlier, Magda from Amore d'Italia said: "Magda said: "The production team were incredible at keeping everyone happy, and I can't thank them enough for all they done when they were here.

"We are just so excited to see how the episode pans out. It'll be so surreal to watch!"

You can watch Come Dine With Me The Professionals on All4 now and Channel 4 from 5pm Monday-Friday.
