The lights that are currently being installed on the Comber Greenway could be switched on next month.
Over the past few months, work has been carried out on the greenway in order to install lighting along it following complaints that it could not be used at night time or winter mornings due to the path being pitch black.
Most of the lighting columns on the greenway have now been installed, except for a section near the Beersbridge Road, with this due to be completed in the coming weeks.

East Belfast Alliance MLA Peter McReynolds said NIE will have the power installed for the lights by February 10, with hopes that the lights will be switched on by the end of the month or the beginning of March.
He said: "I have been engaging with DfI over the past few months regarding lighting on the Comber Greenway and stressing the need for this to be sorted as soon as possible.
"There have been a number of issues which have caused delays with the lighting, which is disappointing as it was hoped to have been completed by the winter months when it would have provided the most benefit to users.
"Now it is looking like it will be the end of February or beginning of March before the lighting is able to be switched on and I intend to keep pressuring DfI in order to ensure that there are no further delays to this much-needed scheme."
A Departmental spokesperson said: “Installation of the Comber Greenway lighting scheme is now substantially completed with final columns expected to be delivered in early February.
"Work has also been ongoing to install power supplies to the columns and is scheduled to be completed during February. Once all the work is completed the Department will confirm a date for final switch on.”
